Senior Ruby Developer

If you dream in code, love building applications iteratively, and think the Web 2.0 Ruby on Rails is the future of rapid website development, then you may be our next senior RoR developer.

We are a growing, DC-based firm that’s building cutting edge Web 2.0 apps with a “mobile first” focus. With our growing clientele, we are looking to expand the team and find an individual that is passionate about doing awesome work, making clients happy, and developing clean, extensible websites and mobile apps.

As our RoR developer, you should:

  • Be excited about working on multiple projects; you don’t get overwhelmed with pressure and deadlines…you thrive on them.
  • Be extremely obsessive about technology; you’d jump at the opportunity to develop websites using RoR. You follow tech blogs and want to be a thought leader in showing how your approach to website development is better than what others are doing.

If that sounds like you, then you should have:

  • 2 or more years of experience with Ruby on Rails; you should be able to demonstrate your experience through some of your code assets and describe your philosophy and approach to developing beautiful code.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with developing software
  • Ability to integrate (and ideally build) websites using web services and designs
  • A college degree

What you’ll get:

  • Work on some of the coolest web and mobile products in the industry.
  • Use our agile and lean startup principles to ship software early and often.
  • Work in our flexible, result-oriented work environment;  Work from home and/or our offices in Bethesda and Reston

To apply, please send your cover letter, resume, and desired hourly rate in an e-mail to jobs@mobomo.com with subject line, “I Dream in Code.” We look forward to hearing from you.

Project Manager

If your sock drawer is neatly organized, your friends consider you a “people person,” and secretly (or maybe not) you’re a big geek, then you may be our next project manager.

We are a small, DC-based firm that’s building cutting edge apps on the iPhone, Android, and other mobile devices. With our growing clientele, we are looking to expand the team and find an individual that is passionate about doing awesome work, making clients happy, and keeping projects on-time and on-budget.

As our project manager, you should:

  • Be excited about working on multiple projects at the same time; you don’t get overwhelmed with pressure and deadlines…you thrive on them.
  • Be extremely comfortable yet professional in dealing with clients; you love to collaborate with your clients and balance finding solutions to their problems with setting realistic expectations.
  • Be familiar with mobile technology; you don’t have to be a mobile expert but ideally you have an iPhone, Android, or similar device and understand the hot mobile space.

If that sounds like you, then hopefully you have:

  • 2-3 years of project management or consulting experience; you should be able to demonstrate your experience through some of the assets and tools you use to PM your projects.
  • Great communication skills; you feel warm fuzzies from writing a concise e-mail, always follow-up with a recap after client conversations, and constantly are looking to use one less word to communicate ideas.
  • A college degree

What you’ll get:

  • Work on some of the coolest web and mobile products in the industry.
  • Use our agile and lean startup principles to ship software early and often.
  • Work in our flexible, result-oriented work environment;  Work from home and/or our offices in Bethesda and Reston.

  • Be published in the App Store or Android Market; you don’t have to have a best selling app but you should have one (but more preferably several) apps in the store and be completely familiar with the iPhone and/or Android SDK.

If that sounds like you, then hopefully you have:

  • 3-5 years of software development experience; you should be able to demonstrate your experience through some of your code assets and describe your philosophy and approach to developing beautiful code.
