iPhone/iPad/Ruby Developer
If you dream in code, love building applications iteratively, and think the App Store is the brave new frontier of software development, then you may be our next senior iPhone developer.
We are a growing, DC-based firm that’s building cutting edge apps on the iPhone, Android, and other mobile devices. With our growing clientele, we are looking to expand the team and find an individual that is passionate about doing awesome work, making clients happy, and developing clean, extensible iPhone apps.
Our philosophy is that work is a lot like dating — it’s got to be a good fit for both people in the relationship. That’s why everyone at the company starts as a contractor before being offered something more long-term. We have a high success rate of building long-term relationships…mainly, because we’re cool and people want to stick around.
As our iPhone developer, you should:
- Be excited about working on multiple projects at the same time; you don’t get overwhelmed with pressure and deadlines…you thrive on them.
- Be extremely obsessive about technology; you’d jump at the opportunity to develop an Android app or something for Apple’s new iPad. You follow tech blogs and want to be a thought leader in showing how your approach to iPhone development is better than what others are doing.
- Be published in the App Store; you don’t have to have a best selling app but you should have one (but more preferably several) apps in the store and be completely familiar with the iPhone SDK.
If that sounds like you, then hopefully you have:
- 3-5 years of software development experience; you should be able to demonstrate your experience through some of your code assets and describe your philosophy and approach to developing beautiful code.
- Ability to integrate (and ideally build) web services and designs; having a strong web background is helpful. Having a command of the iPhone UI library is also important, so that you can create a working frontend while our designers make the UI pretty.
- A college degree
What you’ll get:
- The opportunity to work in the cutting edge mobile industry with well-known thought leaders and DC influencers.
- Work flexibility; our company works virtually and while you may need to visit client sites or come into our shared office space, your official office will be wherever you and your laptop are.
- The potential to join our team full-time; we really want you to join the team full-time, so let’s make it work!
To apply, please send your cover letter, resume, and desired hourly rate in an e-mail with subject line, “I Dream in Code.” We look forward to hearing from you.
Project Manager
If your sock drawer is neatly organized, your friends consider you a “people person,” and secretly (or maybe not) you’re a big geek, then you may be our next project manager.
