Focus on Design

Due to the unique characteristics of mobile applications (limited screen size, navigation restrictions, broad audiences, GPS location capabilities, etc.), Mobomo pays a great deal of time and attention to design and defining user experience. Our agile process enables rapid prototyping from sketches, to wireframes, to comp.

  • Design as a Process

With mobile apps, design is everything. Mobomo sees design as a critical part of our agile development process. As such, design is taken into account in every phase of our development process. We start our brainstorming with simple sketches, evolve them into wireframes, and then build working prototypes for testing. As the app is developed, we cycle through more features and ideas using the same process. The result is that the app evolves and becomes more robust with every iteration resulting in a rich and engaging user experience.

  • Sketches

Freehand sketching is a component piece of our design and development cycle. Sketching is perhaps the most uninhibited mode of brainstorming design concepts and ideas. Using pencil and paper enables creativity that is unhindered by wireframing tools or technology and is an easy way to get all possibilities documented with relatively little cost or restrictions.

  • Wireframes

Mobomo uses wireframes to formalize and lay out component pieces of the final app. In addition, using on-line tools like Balsamiq, Mockingbird, and Protoshare, allows Mobomo to share wireframes with our customers so that there is constant feedback during the agile development process. Wireframes are suggestive of the final product providing guidelines as well as relationships from one screen to the next. They ensure that the layout and navigation are thought through and will provide the best user experience.

  • Prototypes

In our minds, there is nothing more valuable than a working prototype. It is the time that our customers can really start touching and feeling what the end result may look like. Prototypes are not the final polished product; they are works-in-progress during our agile development process that enable our customer to give us feedback while it is being built. Mobomo provides weekly deliverables and ad-hoc prototype builds to our clients.
