Drupal Back-end Developer – Buenos Aires

Drupal Backend Developer

Mobomo is seeking a qualified backend/module developer to develop challenging Drupal projects. This role works within our agile process as a technical resource for the scrum team. The backend developer is also highly engaged with the client, helping them understand, refine and prioritize options. In this role, one may write Drupal modules from scratch, but preferably will be building and improving on existing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing, improving, configuring and bug fixing contributed and custom modules in the context of a specific site needs, aiming for maintainability, simplicity and reusability
  • Contributing improvements/fixes upstream
  • Modeling and cultivating high quality communication within the team
  • Assist team members in solving outstanding technical issues as they arise
  • Responsiveness to Project Manager and client needs and requests
  • Participation in weekly engineering department and project specific meetings
  • Ability to provide clear descriptions and accurate estimates of the technical deliverables

Desired Skill Sets:

  • Minimum of 2 years building Drupal sites
  • In depth knowledge of Drupal module development, or demonstrable transferable skills on other web based frameworks
  • Able to architect and write secure, performant, well documented code that adheres to coding standards
  • Familiarity with most common contributed modules
  • Familiarity with Features and code-based configuration deployment
  • Ability to navigate on the command line and use a version control system
  • Skilled at working throughout the LAMP stack: PHP/MySQL development, command line and version control skills and workflows, including a detailed mental model of HTTP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript operation
  • Skilled in Git, Drush, web API design/usage, PHP debugging, Solr, automated testing tools (e.g. Behat, WRAITH)
  • Complementary/specialized skills such as migration, QA, front-end development, UX, design,accessibility, performance, system administration/operations, security/compliance are also a plus

General Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead web development projects in a consulting or professional services environment, working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working on projects using an agile framework (e.g. Scrum)
  • Superior client facing skills – ability to understand business goals and communicate technical options in non-technical terms, as well as anticipate and surface challenges and opportunities
  • Project team leadership – participate in detailed engineering discussions, monitor and review tickets, team deliverables and the overall project process for quality, efficiency and standards and provide appropriate feedback and support
  • Extensive Drupal development skills or relevant professional experience
  • Track record of contributions to the Drupal community
